Home Groups

We see our small community groups as the lifeblood of the church, a place where pastoral care, love, friendship, fun and food is expressed as well as being a regular gathering for teaching, encouragement and prayer. Each group has its own distinct flavour and they all meet on a most of them meet on a Wednesday evening apart from the young adults who meet on Friday’s.

Home Group Leaders

Alan & Carole Shiers have a wealth of experience in teaching and counselling and have an itinerant ministry often going to Prince Edward Island in Canada, training and encouraging churches and leadership. They have two married children, James and Jo and are grand-parents. Carol serves on the Healing Prayer Ministry team.

Alun & Donna Leppitt are the Pastors of BCF and head up the Leadership Team. Alun is an inspirational worship leader and takes teams on international ministry trips, training and encouraging churches particularly in the area of healing and worship. He heads up the Apostolic Network of Global Awakening, UK and runs his own Media Production company. He is consulting for Randy Clarke’s Global Film Studios in the USA. Donna heads up the Healing Prayer Centre and Prophetic Evangelism on the Streets. She is a gifted speaker spending many hours soaking in God’s presence where she hears from Heaven. They have a lovely daughter called Naomi.

Barry & Sheran Dennes lead a homegroup that embraces newcomers to the church who want foundational teaching, bible teaching, prayer, encouragement and a chance to get to know Bridge’s vision and values. They have a pool of gifted teachers who share their wisdom and insight on many topics. Barry is a gifted and hardworking craftsman running his own business ‘Barry’s Best’ and Sheran is a part time administrator. They have two grown up children, Justine and Martine and are grand-parents to two boys. They head up the Prayer Team, are part of the Healing Prayer Ministry team and Prophetic Evangelism team.

Andy Dickinson plays bass guitar in the worship band, when he’s not chasing after is two wonderfully active boys, Matthew & Daniel. Andy is part of the Healing Prayer Ministry team, and regularly serves on international ministry trips and worship events. Andy is assisted by Charlotte Walker who serves on the Prophetic Evangelism team and is the Chair on the Board of Trustees when she’s not raising her three girls:- Emily, Florence and Katherine. Charlotte is married to Alex, who is a network designer, wine connoisseur and movie fan.

Chris & Jo Szedlak serve on the leadership team. They have four children, David, Abigail, Eleanor and Alice. Joanne heads up the children’s work and is also a part time nanny. Chris is an inspirational preacher and is a part time strength and fitness instructor. They lead a home group across the river on the eastside of Southampton.

Emma West and Chris Grace lead “Underground” a Home Group for the 16-25’s age group. Emma is part of the Prophetic Evangelism team, is a dedicated prayer warrior and is part of the 24-7 Prayer core team in Southampton. Emma and Chris are watchmen praying regularly on the walls of our city late into the night come rain or shine. He works with the youth at Southampton City College and is married to Hannah who is a teacher.
